What is Advanced Academy for Victim Assistance?
The academy will offer advanced training to professionals in criminal justice and non-profit settings who are leading the provision of victim services in a managerial or administrative capacity.
This advanced academy provides an opportunity to study and interact with other victim service providers to develop and enhance your leadership and management skills, in order to strengthen the provision of consistent, high-quality, professional services to crime victims, their families, and your local communities.
The Advanced Academy content is designed for program managers/supervisors. The Advanced Academy is recommended for victim service professionals in government/public agency-based, higher education and non-profit organization settings in the fields of:

Prerequisites
It is strongly recommended that participants have foundation level training in victim services. This includes formal training, either in person or online, or provided by one of TVSA's partner agencies.

Hotel Accommodations
As a courtesy TVSA has secured a block of rooms conveniently located to the academy site at the Holiday Inn Express Airport, 7601 East Ben White Blvd., Austin TX 78741 at the rate of $129.99 plus tax. This is a reduction from the local GSA Austin rate and includes FREE BREAKFAST! (This hotel is optional and participants are free to choose other accommodations.) The hotel is a very direct commuting route from the academy site.

Participants are responsible for securing and providing their own travel arrangements and lodging.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
A refund of 50% of the fees paid will be authorized when a written request by June 21, 2016 has been submitted prior to the scheduled start of the program. Texas Victim Services Association reserves the right to retain or collect fees in full for those who fail to cancel prior to the training or for those who fail to attend. NO EXCEPTIONS!
